Living the Legacy Concert


Date: April 4, 6 p.m.

Location: Eliot Presbyterian Church, 273 Summer St., Lowell

Description: This concert to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (1929 - 1968) will feature the New England Orchestra, under the direction of Prof. Kay George Roberts, conductor. Owen Young, Boston Symphony Orchestra will be the featured soloist, with J. Keith Motley, Chancellor UMass Boston, as narrator.

The New England Orchestra  is Lowell's only professional orchestra with the mission to link cultures through music and to celebrate harmony in diversity. The concert is in conjunction with UML's Peace and Conflict Studies Institute (PACSI) Day Without Violence program. It is free for UMass Lowell students with ID and UMass Lowell String Project students and parents. General admission is $10; $5 for students and seniors.
