Date: April 3, 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Location: Alumni Hall, UML North
Description: The Center for Women and Work will host its 10th Anniversary Gathering at the Well, an annual event that brings people together in the spirit of examining important national issues for women and work through a local and activist lens.
The featured speaker for the special anniversary event will be Cynthia Enloe, a noted feminist, political scientist and author of many books examining militarism through the lens of gender, race, class and ethnic identity. Enloe will speak to the theme of the forum, challenging listeners to think about security broadly as justice and care for all.
The morning will also feature the research of CWW faculty associates around the theme of security, as well as a number of other activities, presentations and opportunities for discussion. The CWW Gathering at the Well has built a tradition of creating an event that is exciting, provocative and creative. This special forum will exemplify these characteristics around the critically important issue of what it means for us to be safe in the 21st Century. The event is also sponsored by the Department of Psychology and the UML Council on Diversity and Pluralism.
